From Paris Verme, Cafeteria Manager
The cafeteria raised over $1300.00 from our spaghetti dinner sale at the beginning of November. I just wanted to let you know how thankful we are for your support of this effort. Our reason for the sale was so that we could give back and be a blessing to others in our school and in our community.
To start with, we were able to bless three of our WCS families that were going through a struggle of their own with Thanksgiving meals. We also gave back to our community by purchasing a Thanksgiving meal for Fire Station 3 down the road. It was our way of thanking them for taking the time away from family to help protect our community and also to thank them for being here when we need them. For our WCS family again, we have added funds to some lunch accounts to help out. Also in our community, we had seen the Wayne Pregnancy Center was in need of winter baby clothes so we all met after school on the last day before our Thanksgiving break and went shopping at Once Upon A Child. I could not think of a better way to start our break than giving these items to this cause.
We have many other things we are working on for the Christmas season and I will share those blessings after we do them. Thank you again for allowing us to do this. We feel like we are led to give back….and what a better way to do it than for our FAMILY! We look forward to another sale in the spring to continue adding to our giving fund, and we are hoping it will be a yearly thing to be able to do one in the fall and one in the spring to keep funds available to us to be able to help when help is needed!
In His Name,
WCS Cafe
Wonderful….thank you and all involved in these wonderful, caring and loving acts of kindness that was given to others. WCS is one place that I know our children will learn how to be this kind of person as actions do speak louder that words. Have a very Merry Christmas, and may the year 2020 be filled with wonderful days for all.
